The 4Cs Board of Trustees has a new candidate for interim president, pending board approval.

Board of Trustees Chair Tammy Glivinski-Saben announced April 21 in an email to faculty and students of 4Cs that Dr. Ellen Kennedy has been selected as the college’s candidate as interim president. Since March 19, Dr. Carlnita Greene has served as the acting president after Dr. John Cox’s retirement on March 16.

Kennedy is concluding a 14-year tenure as president of Berkshire Community College this semester. Her time at BCC included overseeing a $34 million renovation of classrooms and walkways and securing more than $21 million in grant funding.

“I’m excited to let the community know that the candidate we will be discussing for consideration is Dr. Ellen Kennedy,” Glivinski-Saben said. “Under the interim leadership of Dr. Kennedy, our attention as an institution will turn to the national search for a full-time president.”

“Kennedy has been a transformational and extremely well-respected leader, overseeing significant academic and workforce development… and strong relationship building both inside and outside the college,” Glivinski-Saben said.

Kennedy will delay her planned retirement to serve as 4C’s interim president for one year beginning July 1, pending board approval.

Glivinski-Saben also announced a public virtual meeting April 22 at 4 p.m regarding the board’s vote. Community members can watch here.
