Dear MainSheet readers,
My last semester at Cape Cod Community College has been an incredibly eventful one, and it has been the semester where I have felt most like a journalist. Following a story within my own college community was a learning experience that I won’t soon forget, and I will continue following the story despite my graduation this month. I am invested in the wellbeing and safety of the college community, and I hope to see changes made to ensure that those are being prioritized. I feel very proud of The MainSheet for its coverage of this story, as it was no small feat and required an immense amount of patience and determination from all involved.
I am excited to announce that Bec Rapacz and Wil Moser will be Co-Editors next semester. They are both talented writers with unique visions that will undoubtedly be reflected in The MainSheet overall, and I am thrilled to leave the paper in their hands moving forward. I believe that this paper will only continue to grow and improve while reflecting the diverse experiences and voices of the college community.
I am also excited to announce that I will be attending Smith College where I plan to major in English with a creative writing emphasis. That I get to attend my dream school would not be possible without the help of all of the amazing professors at Cape Cod Community College. I would especially like to thank Professor Miller for believing in me and championing my writing throughout my time at the college. I am very grateful for the time that I have spent here, and I feel that I have grown so much as both a person and student. Being able to hone my skills as a writer has been such a rewarding experience, and I look forward to improving even more at Smith.
For now, I look forward to enjoying my summer and I hope that all of our readers do the same. The MainSheet could not exist without you.
Sincerely,
Isabella Cantillano-Sanchez
