Finding a career that aligns with personal interests while meeting financial, physical and emotional needs can be challenging.
Cape Cod Community College is aiming to help students navigate those choices through its upcoming career fair, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 25 and 26 in the Grossman Commons cafeteria. The event is open to students and members of the surrounding community.
Brandon Simmons, a Cape Cod Community College faculty member who helped plan the event, said the fair is designed to “connect students directly with employers so they can network, learn about different career paths, and explore job internship opportunities.”
The goal, Simmons said, is to give students “exposure to organizations” where they may pursue future employment. Some attendees, he added, “may secure a job or internship,” while others can “make valuable connections in their field of interest.”
Students can register by scanning QR codes posted around campus, including in the Grossman Commons and on the bottom floor of the Tilden Arts Center.
Career and resource fairs are a regular offering at the college. Employers expected to attend this year include Plum Dental, YMCA Cape Cod, Cape Cod Healthcare, Cape Abilities, Cape Cod Five, The Club at New Seabury and Quest Diagnostics, among others.
While career decisions can be stressful, events like the career fair allow employers to recruit candidates who share their motivation and drive to succeed.
