Time is running out to register to vote before the upcoming election on Nov. 5. The deadline to register, update your registration, or change your party affiliation is Sunday, Oct. 25.
To be eligible to vote in Massachusetts, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Massachusetts, at least 18 years old, and not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction. Pre-registration is available for 16- and 17-year-olds who meet the other requirements.
There are three ways to register: online, by mail, or in person. For online registration, you must have a signature on file with the Massachusetts RMV. If registering by mail, fill out a voter registration form and send it to your local election office; it must be postmarked by Oct. 25. To register in person, visit your local town clerk, the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth Elections Division, or one of the Secretary’s regional offices.
