Cape Cod Community College invites students to test their “knowledge of useless facts” during its Trivia Night contest.
Trivia Night, held once each semester, is hosted by the Honors Club and Kate Martin, a history professor and honors program coordinator. This semester, the contest is also co-sponsored by SUCCESS and Student Engagement.
The contest, which includes pizza, snacks, and gift card prizes, will be held Thursday, April 10, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Lorusso Applied Technology Building (#9) in the Solarium Room 213.
Trivia Night was originally started by the Honors Club and Phi Theta Kappa during the COVID-19 pandemic. Martin said the contest was hosted on Zoom “as a way to create connections within the 4Cs community.” The contest recently moved to in person just last year.
Participants are grouped into teams of six, typically formed by clubs. Those who attend alone are grouped with other individuals. This semester, Martin expects there to be around 30 participants.
Trivia topics are chosen by the host, DJ Patrick, who is involved in weekly events around Cape Cod. Topics are completely random, adding an element of surprise for participants.
Martin expects “good natured competition, a chance to relax and connect with people you may not know, and some community building” during the contest.
