As the 2024 presidential election approaches, The MainSheet asked 20 4Cs students: “Who are you voting for and why?” Half declined to comment. Of the rest, five chose to remain anonymous.
Here are the responses of those who agreed to be named:
Giovi Lacorte. (Giovi Lacorte)
Giovi Lacorte: “Kamala Harris. If you want law and order, vote for the prosecutor, not the criminal.”
Isadora Greenberg. (Isadora Greenberg)
Isadora Greenberg: “Kamala Harris is the better candidate. She stands up for women’s rights, and, as a female-identifying individual, I trust my reproductive rights in her hands rather than a male-dominated administration. I also won’t support anyone who believes vaccines cause autism. As someone with autism, it’s disgusting.”
Tom Fredrick. (Tom Fredrick)
Tom Frederick: “I’m voting for Kamala because of her focus on the middle class and the poor, her humanitarian efforts, and her overall bipartisan approach.”
Nikki Taylor. (Ray Bishop)
Nikki Taylor: “I’m voting for Harris because she has a better grip on reality and the qualities needed to be president.”
Mason Valley: “I support Harris because I believe Trump is a threat to both America and minorities like me, especially LGBTQ+ people.”
Here are the anonymous responses:
“I’m voting for Trump because no one elected Kamala to be the candidate, and I’m more aligned with Trump’s values.”
“I’m voting for Kamala Harris. I don’t like Trump’s policies; he’s not very inclusive and is too driven by his personal agenda.”
“I’m not going to vote. I don’t think it matters; if everyone is going to vote, why do I need to? It’s like a drop in a bucket.”
“I’m voting for Kamala because I don’t like Trump. He’s trying to take away rights that affect my friends, family, and even people I don’t know.”
“I’m voting for Kamala because I don’t like Trump. That’s one of the reasons.”
