Spring 2025 course registration is now open for current and incoming students.
Students should be aware that many upper-level courses, including some major or certificate requirements, are only offered in the spring or every other spring. Missing these courses could delay graduation or transfer plans, as they may not be available again for one to two years.
Popular courses only offered in the spring include BIO 103: Consumer Nutrition (in person), ENV 135: Coastal Zone Management Laws and Regulations, and HIS 207: Medieval History. Other courses available only every other spring include COM 208: Broadcast Writing and Presentation, COM 221: American Film, ENL 150: World Mythologies, ENL 214: The Contemporary Novel, and THR 207: Acting on Camera. Past practices show that these courses won’t be available again until Spring 2027.
In addition, some spring-only “singleton” courses are only offered once per year. These include ART 207 and ART 208: Graphic Design I and II, COM 204: Persuasive Communication, and COM 214: Media and Society. Department of Language and Literature offerings, such as ENL 170: Producing a Magazine of the Arts, ENL 204: British Literature from the Romantic Age, and ENL 217: Exploring the World of Science Fiction, are also limited to the spring semester.
For students pursuing hospitality management, HRM 204: Food and Beverage Management, HRM 215: Lodging Operations and Management, and HRM 230: Hospitality and Tourism Marketing and Sales are all spring-only options.
When selecting courses, students should consider which spring-only classes they need or wish to take, as these may not be available in the near future.
