Spring Graduates Should Meet with Advisers

By Noah G. Schmidt

If you’re nearing completion of your associate degree or certificate program, schedule a meeting with your academic advisor before the holidays. Doing so ensures you’ve met, or will meet, all graduation requirements by spring 2025.

If you are one course short, you can still participate in the spring 2025 commencement ceremony. However, you’ll need to submit an additional application to graduate once you’ve completed your final requirement.

To schedule an appointment, log into Navigate360, select “Appointments,” and choose “General Advising.” Indicate that your purpose is to finalize graduation requirements. During the meeting, your advisor will complete and submit the necessary form to the Registrar’s Office. They’ll also help you confirm your spring 2025 class schedule and adjust if necessary.

Since 200-level courses are more specialized and fill up less quickly than 100-level classes, you should have no trouble enrolling in the courses you need. These classes are also beneficial for transfer opportunities.

Finally, you’ll be able to pick up your cap and gown in early May at the campus bookstore. You’ll receive two commencement tickets initially, but you can request more at the commencement rehearsal the evening before the ceremony.
