Semester’s End Brings Holidays, Gratitude

By Mason Lopes

As the year winds down here on Cape Cod, we find ourselves preparing for Christmas or other holidays with our loved ones, while also gearing up for the upcoming spring semester. The year at Cape Cod Community College just keeps on giving as we, the students, submit our final assignments and exams. We often think that the work ends when the semester wraps up, but, in reality, the spring semester is just around the corner.

Now is the time to register for the spring semester and secure the classes you need to complete your degree. But before we dive into the new semester, it’s important to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished this term. We should all recognize the hard work and dedication that has gotten us this far. Teachers and faculty members deserve special thanks for their tireless efforts to grade our papers, guide us through difficult material, and help us grow as students and individuals.

Cape Cod Community College gives us an early holiday gift by providing an exceptional experience, with the support of an amazing community of people who help us progress – not only in our academic careers but in life itself.

What is your holiday wish? For many of us, it’s the hope that after this semester, we’ll be one step closer to earning our degrees and moving on to the next chapter in our lives. Cape Cod Community College is unique in that it offers more than just an education — it offers a sense of community where everyone is invested in your success. As Tom Robbins once said, “Keep your eye on the ball.” We must keep pushing forward, because if we do, the rewards will come.

It’s easy to get caught up in the rush to finish college and move on, but we won’t stay young forever, and there’s no need to rush through our journey. After college, we will face new responsibilities and challenges. For now, let’s enjoy the present and appreciate the time we have.
