Spring break at 4Cs runs from March 10-14 — March 8-16 if you count weekends. Not planning a big trip? There are plenty of activities to enjoy around the Cape and Massachusetts.
In the Upper Cape, visit the new expansion of Eight Cousins Bookstore, on Main Street in Falmouth, which opened in July. Located next to Ben and Bill’s Chocolate Emporium, it’s a perfect stop for book lovers. Other local favorites include Market Street Bookshop in Mashpee Commons and Titcombs Bookshop in East Sandwich.
If you’re an art enthusiast, head to the Sandwich Glass Museum in historic Sandwich for its bicentennial celebration. The museum offers hourly glassblowing demonstrations and showcases stunning glass art created by local artists.
For those who enjoy a bit of shopping, check out the new Cape Cod Aldi in Falmouth. The store offers great deals on international foods and sweets, but inventory changes regularly, so be sure to grab any unusual finds while you can.
Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the Cape’s many walking, running, and biking paths. The 13.5-mile Cape Cod Canal Trail is perfect for a stroll with family, friends, or pets. For a longer route, the Cape Cod Rail Trail, stretching from Yarmouth to Wellfleet, offers a paved path nearly 26 miles long. The Shining Sea Bikeway in North Falmouth spans 10.7 miles to Woods Hole.
If you’re in the Lower Cape, stop by the Chatham Fish Pier to watch the seals being fed when the boats unload. While in the area, take a selfie in front of the iconic Chatham Pirate Shack on South Chatham Beach.
For a cultural excursion, take a trip to Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. With a valid college ID, you can enter for free. If your ID has expired, you can get a new one at the Wilkens Library or Student Engagement Office — no appointment necessary. Just bring your old ID, class schedule, and a photo ID.
