As the new semester begins, Cape Cod Community College introduces Professor Ava Fedorov to its campus. Fedorov who will teach video production, computer graphics, and drawing joins the college this fall. Students who missed the registration deadline can look forward to these courses being offered again in Spring 2025 and beyond.

Fedorov earned her MFA in painting from the University of Hawaii before pursuing a master’s degree in art and illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She began her teaching career at Hawaii Pacific University in 2015 and continued there until 2021. Simultaneously, she taught at the University of Hawaii from 2018 to 2021. In fall 2021, Fedorov transitioned to the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where she taught art classes that included hands-on learning and production.

Outside the classroom, Fedorov enjoys traveling and outdoor adventures. She has backpacked the Milford Track in New Zealand and completed an 11-day trek on the Tour du Mont Blanc in France. An avid musician, she plays both the guitar and the ukulele, having started the former at age 14 and taking up the latter in the past decade. Fedorov, who is half Finnish and half Russian, is also passionate about environmental conservation. Her artwork reflects the changing landscape and highlights the urgent need to protect the environment.
