What began as one girl writing music in her room has grown into songs that echo through the community.

Vanna Pacella spent her early childhood in Foxboro, summering on the Cape before her family moved there permanently. She has been “enamored with music” her whole life. Pacella began playing piano at age 6 and started writing and singing music at age 15. Music, she said, is a “calling,” something she feels “chosen to do” rather than a career path. She avoids forcing inspiration, letting her internal dialogue guide her writing.

At 18, Pacella has wasted no time making her voice known in the local music scene. She has performed at venues across the Cape, including The Lounge at the Daily Brew in North Falmouth, Naukabout Brewing Company in Mashpee, and the Chatham Drama Guild. Her music is connecting with a growing audience, with more than 700 monthly listeners on Spotify and several songs surpassing 10,000 streams.

In a music scene dominated by formulaic hits, it’s easy for passionate listeners to feel disconnected — searching for something that truly resonates. Pacella understands this and strives to make her music personal, offering listeners an authentic experience.

“It all comes down to intention and the emotion behind a song,” she says.

In her self-produced debut album, “Listen,” streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and Youtube, Pacella captures her personal experiences with growth and change as a young aspiring artist. She said she feels fortunate to create music that resonates with listeners. She just finished her first tour across the country, performing in several major cities, and is planning more for the spring.

Overall, it seems that Pacella’s primary message is to be yourself and the rest will follow.

“Are you ready to give this everything you have?” She asks. “You have to believe in yourself enough to know your value.”

She also emphasizes the importance of being authentic and reflecting that in your art.

Pacella has multiple upcoming shows. She will perform at The Chatham Bars Inn on Feb. 13, Neptune’s in Hyannis on Feb. 21, and an open jam at Neptune’s in Hyannis on March 3.
