I know that I’m not alone in trying to find peace and quiet these past few months. When I do finally slip away to a tranquil location, it is impossible to truly escape into relaxation. My mind feels as though it is travelling as fast as a plane. We all really strive to feel at ease and carefree.

Despite the hardships that the Coronavirus pandemic has delivered, I have found patience and control over my mind. My discovery of meditation changed my life. Opposed to many beliefs, you do not need to stay completely still; you do not need to meditate for a specific period of time; and you do not need to discourage the mind for wandering. There are no definitive set of rules when it comes to meditation. Taking time to put your brain at ease each day, or whenever it feels necessary, can improve many aspects of one’s life. Think of it as running; it is essential to take breaks and let one’s body rest for a little bit to seize the best results.

The same is present in a lengthy road trip. It’s best to break up a long road trip for the vehicle to get the rest it needs as well as the replenishment of fuel. To aid sleep, it may be beneficial to meditate before bed as it will soothe and ease the racing conscious. When I feel as though I am stuck in a bustling city in need for a countryside escape, I take a deep breath and meditate. With modern technology such as Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube, getting your hands on a guided meditation is very simple.
